Two former ministers and a government MP yesterday challenged fellow backbencher Jeffrey Pullicino Orlando to name the 10 government MPs who, he claimed, wished to vote in favour of the opposition motion censuring Malta’s EU permanent representative Richard Cachia Caruana.
Louis Deguara, Jean Pierre Farrugia and Censu Galea were speaking during the adjournment of the House.
Dr Farrugia also claimed that it was absurd that internal PN affairs had been leaked to the media.
He mentioned an e-mail he had circulated to other MPs for internal consumption, which had been leaked.
It was also unjust that Dr Pullicino Orlando had claimed that 10 MPs were in agreement with him but failed to mention them in detail.
He challenged the Nationalist MP to name these MPs.
After Dr Pullicino Orlando’s allegations, the PN had issued a signed declaration by the 33 government MPs who had voted against the motion, saying that it was not true that anyone of them had any intention to vote for the Opposition motion.
But in response Dr Pullicino Orlando declared he would not reveal the names.
