Canadian singer songwriter Nelly Furtado, one of the stars at the Isle of MTV concert would like an Għana singer to join her on stage tomorrow.

Speaking at an interview with Fiona Galea Debono this afternoon, Furtado, who has Portuguese roots, said that she wants to perform "some of your freestyle singing of the older generations" which she likened to a Portuguese style of singing known as Canção ao desafio.

"It is kind of how I learnt to improvise. Most of my songs are written improvisationally."

This is Furtado's first time in Malta and she said she is looking forward to the show on the granaries as she loves performing in the open. 

Furtado went on a boat trip to Comino for a photoshoot this morning and said she was impressed by the clear water and the beautiful cliffs.

"It's gorgeous here, and just feels so ancient," she remarked, adding that she wants to go to the Tarxien temples and a number of churches during her stay.

Furtado is launching her latest album The Spirit Indestructible in September.

The Isle of MTV line-up with also feature rapper Flo Rida and will.i.am.
