Two foreigners have been jailed after pleading guilty to theft, while a third was conditionally discharged for filing a false police report about theft.
Cezar Stan, a 28-year-old Romanian, was sentenced to three months in prison after he admitted pick-pocketing in Valletta.
He had stolen two wallets before he was apprehended.
In a separate case before Magistrate Antonio Mizzi, Sudanese Salah Addin Hassan Dulla, 23, was jailed for six months after he admitted to stealing a mobile phone and handling stolen property.
He also pleaded guilty to escaping from Safi Barracks and relapsing.
In a third arraignment, Libyan national Ben Jeddi Ibrahim Abdussalam, 30, was jailed for 12 months, suspended for two years, after he pleaded guilty to filing a false police report on a theft.
He was also given a general interdiction of five years.
Meanwhile, two Sudanese men were conditionally discharged for four and six months after pleading guilty to cannabis possession.
Hossan Hamad Abdellah, 31 and Abo Ishakk Suleiman, 42, both from Marsa, appeared before Magistrate Mizzi.
