Students from Forms 1 to 4 at Our Lady Immaculate School, Hamrun, were recently trained in First Aid treatment for choking and in cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) as part of the school’s Healthy Living Day.

The annual event was packed with fun activities for both the primary and secondary students. This year it included activities like sports, zumba, a healthy lunch, as well as traffic safety, water conservation and anti-bullying seminars.

A new school health and safety website – www.healthandsafetyatolis.webs.com – was launched on the day, featuring news from the school as well as links to other health and safety related sites and material.

In addition, the Blood Donation Mobile Unit was present near the school for all the school staff and neighbours to donate blood.

Ecological outings and a healthy breakfast were held on the days preceding the event.
