The British High Commission is staging a photographic exhibition celebrating Queen Elizabeth II’s 60-year reign.

The unique collection of photographs includes images from the Queen’s many visits to Malta over the years. It also features images taken from the Diamond Jubilee Opus, a collection of photographs spanning the Queen’s reign from the Coronation in 1953 to the celebrations of 2012.

Other photographs record the Queen’s life as a young princess, before she acceded to the throne.

Visitors will be able to write messages to the Queen in a book of congratulation. These will then be forwarded to Buckingham Palace after the exhibition has finished.

Visitors will also be able to contribute to the Queen Elizabeth Diamond Jubilee Trust, a new charitable trust launched to celebrate the Queen’s contribution to the Commonwealth. The trust will deliver projects across the Commonwealth that enrich the lives of all citizens, providing a lasting legacy for the Queen.

“This is a unique and wonderful collection of photographs. It brings together rare images of the Queen’s childhood, key moments in her reign, and of course images of Her Majesty’s many visits to Malta, a country for which she holds a deep affection. I hope as many people as possible will take the chance to come and see these fantastic photographs,” British High Commissioner Louise Stanton said.

The exhibition is open between July 2 and July 14 at the British High Commission in Ta’ Xbiex between July 2 and 14. It will be open between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m., except for the weekend starting July 6, when the High Commission will be closed.

There will be a special late opening from 2 to 7 p.m. on July 5.
