 A 6.6-magnitude earthquake hit Indonesia's Aceh province on Sumatra island today, the Indonesian Meteorological and Geophysics Agency said.

The quake struck 24 kilometres (15 miles) northwest of Subulussalam town in Aceh at 11:34 am (0434 GMT) at a depth of 103 kilometres, the agency said.

"The quake's epicentre was on land. There are no reports of damage so far," agency official Dedi Sugianto told AFP.
