The Sunday Times will tomorrow feature an extensive four-page interview with Malta's outgoing EU Ambassador Richard Cachia Caruana who stepped down following Monday's vote of censure in Parliament.

Mr Cachia Caruana speaks candidly about the run-up to Monday's vote and the discussions he had with Nationalist MP Jeffrey Pullicino Orlando, who surprised many by voting in favour of the opposition motion which led to the EU ambassador's resignation.

Mr Cachia Caruana also gives a blow-by-blow account of the last days of the 2008 election campaign, where he helped Dr Pullicino Orlando face the accusations levelled against him by Labour leader Alfred Sant.

Mr Cachia Caruana, who is also a PN strategist and served in the governments of Eddie Fenech Adami and Lawrence Gonzi, speaks about his plans for the future, his introduction to politics and his thoughts on columnist Daphne Caruana Galizia.
