Fastest-ever Bentley unleashed at Goodwood Festival of Speed
BRITISH brand Bentley will have something special to offer at the Goodwood Festival of Speed in the UK as the Continental GT Speed makes its international debut.
Powered by an uprated version of the mighty twin-turbocharged 6.0-litre W12 engine, the GT Speed offers 616 bhp and 590lb.ft of torque. With the power channelled to all four wheels via an eight-speed automatic gearbox the GT Speed can reach 60mph from rest in 4.0 seconds and go on to a remarkable 205 mph.
To make the most of the performance the GT Speed has a revised suspension, with a stiffer and lower set-up as well as uprated steering. Unique 21-inch alloy wheels are wrapped in high-specification Pirelli P Zero tyres. Inside the GT Speed is luxuriously finished with the Mulliner Driving Specification option fitted as standard.
The GT Speed will make two high-speed runs a day up the Goodwood hill climb at the Festival of Speed, driven by Bentley ambassadors Juha Kankunnen, Guy Smith and Derek Bell.

I am still waiting to win a lottery so I can have one myself. But where would I park it, on a barge in the water ?

It is still a bloody great looking car. I do not care where it is made nor who owns the company. Give me one, and the filling station which goes with it, and I will happily cruise all day . Er, what's a Maybach ? hehe

They are designed and built in UK, with many of their components still being British. Top management is very much British as well despite that the beneficial owner is VW for Bentley. In today's world, it is difficult to say what a product really is. However, you can't say that X company is Y simply because its shares were purchased by Y. Private equity companies buy a lot of other enterprises these days and they even buy large scale manufacturing operations. But you can't say that these operations are of the same domicile of the equity companies...the latter simply buy them to make money and they wouldn't have an ounce of expertise in the product they buy.
@Mr Micallef - For your knowledge, Maybach's sales are a complete flop and Bentley sells more than Maybach. I would have expected you to know this.....

Take it lightly, Mr. Aquiina Spagnol :-))
I know that but it's good to know that Maybach had a very thorough engineering history.

Good sport by Bentley............Oh no, there must be trouble ahead...... !!
Perhaps, "BRITISH" is a brand name afterall, right........ ;-)
Poor Maybach, they never stood a chance by such MIGHT.
The editors of the SDZ of Munich were right ;-)

Bentley is owned by VW and is powered by a VW engine, same as Rolls Royce is owned by BMW and powered by BMW engines. Only the names are still British. Such a shame!
