News from the law courts

I would like to congratulate The Times for its reporting from the law courts and for its investigative stories about the application of the law.

Such reports provide an important input to the current political and public debate on the administration of justice.

I trust that the recent statement by the Chief Justice, featured in the editorial of June 13, will not deter The Times from maintaining this flow of information and comment.

It is certainly an important public service.
