Il-Pjazza – Le Méridien’s outdoor restaurant – has re-opened for the summer season, offering a celebration of traditional Maltese flavours with the comeback of its popular Festa Fridays.

In the open-air terrace, offering a spectacular view of the coastline, Festa Fridays takes on a truly festive air thanks to the Paul Curmi dancers and folk musicians, who together create an ambience that is reminiscent of a traditional village feast.

Like most Maltese feasts, the food is abundant and patrons can start the evening with a range of Maltese meze and dips, including aljoli (garlic paste), bigilla (broad beans dip) and bebbux (snails).

Pasta is served from a live cooking station, with a choice of tarja moqlija (pan fried vermicelli), ravioli, ricotta pie with broad beans and spaghetti with rabbit sauce. Mains are equally enticing with rabbit, beef, suckling pig and stuffed marrows, as well as fresh tune for the fish lovers.

Dinner comes to a sweet end with specialities like prinjolata (a carnival sweet cake), imqaret (fried date pastries), ħelwa tat-tork (Turkish delight) and żeppoli (sweet choux pastry) among others.

The price is €27 (food only) or €35 including free flowing wine, beer, soft drinks and water. Children up to 12 years eat free, while under-16s pay half price.

For bookings call 2311 0000 or e-mail infolmsj@lemeridien.com.
