The importance of having art and creative subjects in the curriculum was stressed by artist Anton Grech at the opening of a recent exhibition of creative artworks by children at the junior school of St Edward’s College, Cottonera.

Mr Grech said university students of subjects such as architecture and engineering also need to have a good knowledge of art.

Junior school art teacher Lida Sherafatmand also spoke about teaching children how to observe carefully and recreate what they saw in their works of art.

The pupils’ artworks will also be displayed at the International Child Art Museum in Berlin.

Just look at that poor massacred tree by some artist, it is shear murder of true nature! The teacher artist had the misconception of writing on it, " Art is life!" when that result itself is murdering a tree to absolute death. Just look at that poor image of a tree, The drooping branches are just like most of our standards in education, drooping, A real tree has most of its branches seeking the light and they look up . This natural phenomena of any tree to seek light or enlightenment may have been depicted or at least children told about how all plants seek lights for their growth as children should. That artistic tree looks sick to me.
When nature speaks, art must listen carefully and try to understand! Let that be a lesson to all arts teachers.
