• When we buy a product from a foreign country, it is that country’s consumer protection laws that apply.

• EU member states have similar consumer legislation.

• European Consumer Centres handle complaints against EU sellers.

• We should always know the trader we are buying from and how and where to contact them.

• If the product is covered by a commercial guarantee, this should be given to us in writing and it should also include information about what the guarantee covers and for how long it is valid.

• A commercial guarantee should also include information on how consumers can obtain the remedies stipulated in the guarantee.
