OBITUARY

TORTELL. On June 14, at St James Capua Hospital, Sliema, Dr SIMON, after a long illness bravely borne with Christian fortitude and comforted by the rites of Holy Church, went to join his dear mother Louise. He leaves to mourn his great loss his beloved wife Silvana, his adored children Elena, Alexandra and Ana, his father Peter, his sister Angela and Kenneth, their children Nicholas, Gareth and Tricia, his brother John and Aida, their children Jessica and Christina, his parents-in-law Saviour and Carmen Grech, his sisters-in-law Marisa and Nikita, Lorraine and Chris, their children Sofia and George, his uncles and aunts, other relatives and friends. Mass præsente cadavere will be said today at 9.30 a.m. at Jesus of Nazareth parish church, Sliema, followed by interment at the Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery. No flowers by request but donations to The Malta Community Chest Fund, Valletta, and the Muscular Dystrophy Group, Gżira, will be great-ly appreciated. May the Good Lord grant him eternal rest.

Mass at St Edward ’s

Thanksgiving Mass for Old Edwardians, their families and friends will be celebrated by Fr Brendan Gatt in the chapel at St Edward’s College tomorrow at 11.30 a.m. Everyone is invited to attend. The activity is being organised by the class of 1972.

Acupuncture and obesity

Ronglian Ma, director of the Mediterranean Regional Centre for Rational Chinese Medicine, will give a lecture themed Can Acupuncture Help Obesity? on June 28 at 6.30 p.m. at the Chinese Cultural Centre, Melita Street, Valletta. The activity is expected to be over by 7.45 p.m. Last March, Dr Ma delivered a lecture explaining how Chinese doctors detect illness through the colour of the tongue.
