This past part business has to end once and for all because every time pn apologists mentions it they always stir dark past memories FROM BOTH Parties. The PN seems to think that only they suffered BUT MOST people remember the atrocities that the PN inflicted on their opponents. The PN hands are far, far from clean.
Just to mention what springs to mind.
The Inglorious 60's with all its suffering and culminating with mlp members buried in the infamous 'Mizbla' possibly one of the most OBSENE dramas for those families who had to go through it.
Bombs were the order of the day in the 70s & 80's
A foreign drug dealer was given a presidential pardon on something which didn't hold any water.
One-Two, presidential pardons were give to a person who definitely did not merit them as things turned out later.
One of the greatest lies ever uttered against the person of Alfred Sant on the eve of the election and NO apology was ever forth coming.
Off lately as well we have the son of an ex-Prime Minister who admits that he was overpaid a some of 5000E but he (incredibly) says that he won't be repaying any of it simply because a certain MP has kept taking the 'honoraria' whilst mostly not attending the sessions.
There are more instances where the PN can come clean, as everybody knows, but I leave that to the men in the street to remember them.
The whole point is that that one cannot paint the other black when in actual fact he is blackier the the former.

The way forward is speaking about the future and not remain stuck in the distant past.
But when a party remains in power for a quarter of a century it is becomes devoid of fresh ideas and begins to suffer with what is know as 'government fatigue' - very evident, no?
The PL's proposals are being welcomed by many who in the not distant past did not embrace the ideals of Labour. This is because PL has morphed into a popular movement - thanks to the hands on approach of Dr Muscat.

I was watching a very well researched documentary on longevity and extending the human life. It even covered studies done during the communist era in Russia and the scientist interviewed really blew me away with his comments ... basically he said that the biggest problem they had identified was not extending human life but trying to understand why humans loose their intellectual abilities so quickly as they get older. He said that this was a particular problem with the Russian politburo, which was essential constituted of senile old men.
On the same subject, it was revealed that in fact none of the greatest scientists had done their brilliant work over the age of 35 years - including Einstein. The one exception was thought to be Newton, but in fact he had done the work 20 years earlier and not published until much later in his life.
I bring this up - because Gonzi has recently tried to attack Muscat on the fact that Muscat would be the youngest prime minister elected. I think that its would be great to have a younger prime minister - politicians are not exactly Einsteins to start with and they can hardly afford to loose what cognitive powers they have as they age.
Its also interesting to note that the average age of a country's leadership is an indirect measure of how truly democratic that country is - this is because in a true democracy people would choose the best person for the job and not allow incumbents to stay on for ever. If power is passed down the family as is common in countries such as Malta, Columbia and other countries with weak democratic traditions, the above formula has to be adjusted to correct for this aberration.

To John Borg: How much much much much more the PL has to apologise than GonziPN. If you cannot even make such a difference then you are not only blind but unashamedly biased.

It would be a great idea - for once - to ASK him about how he is going to handle the economy and where is he going to get the money if he already stated that he will be cutting on utility bills. Maybe, just maybe, this time the journalist might get lucky and be rewarded with straight-forward ANSWER! And while at it, he might also like to comment on his Party's past and be ready to make an HONEST apology without using a lot of sophism.
Mr John Borg

...and what about an apology from GonziPN for the PAST and Present antics of his party?!

Mr John Borg. Do you think that an apology is gonna make a difference? What counts at this stage is how we are going to steer our country away from the apocalypse. What fiscal measures JM will apply to saveguard our economy? What monetary policy is going to introduce to control debt costs? What are the socio-economic measures that JM is going to execute ? What are the protocols he is going to execute to control and minimise bribery, corruption, and fraud? What is JM top secret formulae to control and reduce the utility costs without increasing the defecit .These questions and more needs to be answered by JM. The difference between PN and PL is that PN is giving true and fair view of what measure Malta is going to apply whereas JM dicatorial party dont have even an idea what the heck hit them. I am expecting the joke of the summer from the labourties , will you blame GonziPN aswel for the planetary economic depression too???
Alfred Vassallo

Apology??? Not before the PN makes an apology ON THEIR KNEES for the dark 60's when they rode on the church ''dnup il mejjet'' and most possible stealing the election plus the thousands of Maltese workers who had to emigrate to distant lands because they were not 'blue eyed' sycophants.

Can you change the tune and try to live the present. Just because your own party is embroiled in its own web of evil you try to dig out the past to try to alienate the electorate. For that matter your own party is guilty of atrocious behaviour against labourites during the infamous 60's. But your memory can only take you back to the 80's!
If you want answers how JM will handle the economy, just be patient and wait until the date of the election is set by your beloved PN. Anyway, he cannot run it worse than your PN?
