Live or recorded? None, thanks

I watched and enjoyed the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee Concert and the Spettacolo all’Arena di Verona, both events transmitted live, with various top-notch personalities taking part.

I wonder why, here in Malta, when big events are held, we have no live transmissions and neither recorded ones later on. On behalf of persons with special needs or housebound ones like me, I’d like to be able to enjoy such concerts. It is not the same (I know from past experience) as being there in the audience but half a loaf is better than no bread.

I last heard Joseph Calleja in La Bohème in Gozo and since then I’ve only been able to enjoy his CDs and some shots on TV.

I beg the organisers of such events to think of us as well, even if the show is transmitted months later.
