Mriehel company plans to expand exports

Cuschieri Brothers of Mriehel wants to increase its production for export from 10 to around 40 per cent tapping the Libyan and Sicilian markets.
To do so, the company needs new and bigger premises, co-owner Gilbert Cuschieri told Prime Minister Lawrence Gonzi this afternoon.
Dr Gonzi, who was touring the factory, which produces aluminium works, said it is the government's duty to help properties wanting to expand.
Asked about the Mriehel Corporate Village, the Prime Minister just moved away with his director of communications saying that Dr Gonzi had a private meeting with the company bosses.
This is the second time this week that a manufacturing company in the Mriehel industrial estate said it wanted to expand.
Just a couple of blocks away from Cuschieri Brothers, a large factory lies abandoned on the site where government plans to create a corporate village with offices and retail space.
This project was this week criticised by Labour leader Joseph Muscat who said it made no sense to dedicate prime industrial land for retail and office purposes.

Why is it that the aluminium frames in Sicily looks as they are of thicked gauge and the depositon of the protective layer and colour is richer ? Do we get a cheaper version in Malta?

This government is suffocating in so many ways. Now it even aims at space that industry needs for expansion and the creation of jobs. Those precious manufacturing jobs that went lost with so many factories. Some people really wanted that kind of job. Not that Gonzi PN ever bothered about that! Let's see if the decisions about the corporate village will be of interest to the industry as the decisions about the crafts village were to the artisans!!!!!

Can the prime minister explain how the government is facilitating those companies that want to expand? The focus should not be on talking...it must be on action!

Now we know why Dr. Gonzi and his cronies keep asking Dr. Muscat everytime they get a chance what his plans are for the future with the PL in government......SO HE AND HIS CABINET OF MINISTERS FROM THE gonziPN pool of limited talent , can copy his ideas!
If this is not prove enough after Joseph Muscat's visit to Methode yesterday, I don't know what is!
Joseph Muscat sets the way and Dr. GonZi follows, AND DR. MUSCAT IS STILL ON THE OPPOSITION BENCHES!
Where are thou CORPORATE VILLAGE after Dr. Muscat has spoken?
Why does Dr. Gonzi keep dodging questions ?

Is this the same PM who promised us Smart City, The White Rocks project, The Cospicua Dock 1 project, The Ta' Qaki craft village and gave a job guarantee with black on white to the drydocks workers, the ex bus drivers, the GO workers, the Seamalta employees, the airmalta workers...? And the list continues.

Action speaks louder than words.Another promise and yet I'm almost sure that the PM will not keep his word. Gonzi's reluctance to be the main talking point on tv continues. 4 years of broken promises.A PM who thinks that the electorate is stupid.

Meta saqsuh fuq Corporate Village harrab. Mhux l ewwel darba li Gonzi jahrab.

Can't the government admit that this thing about a corporate village in mriehel was just an illusion of former malta enterprise ceo Alan Camilleri and now gonzipn is finding a way out to scrap this illusion. That much needed space is needed for a factory like this that needs to expand and the other one visited by labour leader yesterday in the same industrial estate. Gonzi is hiding away from questions related to the infamous corporate village, a project in direct competition with local estate agents struggling to sell office space to foreign companies because the local market is very low at the moment!

In what way exactly is the government helping companies willing to expand. Talk is cheap Dr. Gonzi! It does not take just posing to the cameras and run away when facing the truth! What about the corporate village. What is going to happen to the owners at Mriehal industrial estate? Why all this silence? Had Dr.Gonzi ever been taken to Mriehal Industrial estate disastrous roads or were any of them patched so that he can pass comfortably? The last billboard on our roads showing Gonzi closing his ears and eyes just fits him right.

Can GonziPN explain in great detail what he is doing to help SMEs expand?
Is he reducing bureaucracy which heckles industry?
How about the W & E bills? Are they to remain horrendously high as they are today? Or will he have a change of heart a few weeks before the election, even though he voted against the Opposition's motion to reduce the bills 'bil-qalb'?

Dr. Gonzi's silence is deafening. He had no problem with facing the camera for a few snapshots, however he chose to skip the questions related to the Mriehel corporate village. "Par idejn sodi" indeed............talk is cheap!

I love the humour in this ...in one breath Gonzi says its the duty of HIS Government to help business expansion , the next he is moving out of the way of a BURNING question, has to attend an urgent meeting right round the corner. :)))
Maybe its at Methode???? Or maybe prefers not to answer that question at all ???
