Spinola Bay is a heavily built, densely populated neighbourhood. It is not the right location for the broadcasting, over loudspeakers, of noisy football matches and loud music, which can be heard all over the neighbourhood and in peoples’ homes.

To make it worse, these loud broadcasts are taking place every evening for 15 days, to be followed in late July by the public broadcasts over loudspeakers of the Olympic Games.

Fishermen’s Wharf at Spinola Bay and the site of the former Tigullio are not the right locations for noisy public gatherings that invade the privacy of people’s homes. This noise abuse in a residential area of St Julians has been going on for years.

I’d like to ask the St Julians council to find an alternate venue for noisy, public events, away from the residential area of Spinola Bay.
