Andrea Barzagli will be fit to face Ireland in Italy’s last Euro 2012 Group C match on Monday.

The Juventus centre-back revealed the news himself on his Twitter account, saying he would play against Giovanni Trapattoni’s Irish side.

“Good news, I will be back for the match against TRAP,” wrote Barzagli.

The 31-year-old World Cup winner in 2006 was suffering from a calf problem picked up in a friendly against Russia a couple of weeks ago.

He missed Italy’s first two games against Spain and Croatia but his return will allow Daniele De Rossi to resume a midfield role having filled in as a libero in the first two games.
