Obituary

GALEA. On June 10, at Mater Dei Hospital, MARIO (ex-AFM) of Birkirkara, aged 76, passed away peacefully comforted by the rites of Holy Church. He leaves to mourn his loss his wife Mary, née Sciberras, his children Lourdes and her husband, the Hon. George Pullicino, Charles and his wife Sandra, Elizabeth and her husband Gordon Pisani, his grandchildren Mattea, Juanita and Krista Andrea, his brothers and sisters, in-laws and their families, nephews and nieces, other relatives and friends. The funeral leaves Mater Dei Hospital today at 1.30 p.m. for St Mary parish church (Knisja l-Qadima), Birkirkara, where Mass præsente cadavere will be said at 2 p.m. followed by interment in the family grave at St Nicholas Cemetery, Qrendi. Lord, grant him eternal rest.

Course on environment

The Church’s Environmental Commission is organising an intensive course about the environment and sustainable development. It will be held over five Saturdays, starting on June 23. Bee Gees tribute band

Bonsai exhibition

The Bonsai Culture Group Malta will hold its 20th annual exhibition at BCG Club, Notre Dame Arch Street, Floriana, this weekend. The exhibition will be open from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Saturday, and 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Sunday. Entrance is free.

Nadur concert

The Malta Philharmonic Orchestra will hold a concert at the Nadur parish church tomorrow at 7.15 p.m. Music pieces played at the event will include work by Mendelssohn, Mozart, Haydn, Handel and Bach. Entrance is free.

Philately meeting
