Din l-Art Ħelwa said it continues to build the “victory team”, the name given by the heritage organisation to the group of sponsors supporting the restoration of Our Lady of Victory Church in Valletta.
Pricewaterhouse Coopers (PwC) is supporting work to uncover the murals on the ground floor of the church, as well as the restoration of precious artworks.
HSBC Malta Foundation will underwrite the huge cost of conserving the 18th century paintings of the Life of the Virgin that cover the vaulted ceiling, the greater part of which were created by Maltese baroque artist Alessio Erardi between 1716 and 1718.
Din l-Art Ħelwa executive president Simone Mizzi said: “Like PwC and HSBC Malta Foundation, there are many members of the business community who have risen to the occasion and come to the aid of this long abandoned national church.
“There are also many private individuals, from all corners of Malta, who come forward daily wishing to be involved with this project and continue to make contributions.”
