Miriam Sorrell’s exotic recipes and prominent online exposure were the main reasons why publishing house Random House last year approached Sorrell to write her first cookbook.

Mouthwatering Vegan: The Cookbook will be published by Appetite (a new lifestyle imprint of Random House Canada) early next year and will be distributed worldwide.

Veganism is a fast growing movement. Vegans do not consume and, wherever possible do not make use of, any animal products or by-products.

Mouthwatering Vegan will include soups, pasta dishes, curries, burgers, pizzas, main courses, desserts, smoothies and health juices, among many others. It will also include some vegan versions of globally popular dishes, without compromising taste, texture or appearance in any way – signifying a revolution in meat-free, dairy-free eating.

This will appeal not only to vegans and vegetarians, but also to those that wish to limit their meat and dairy intake for health reasons, as none of these dishes contain any cholesterol.

Of particular interest will be recipes for vegan pastizzi, baked macaroni and baked rice.

Since starting her food blog ‘Mouth-watering Vegan Recipes’, Miriam Sorrell has attracted over 17,000 followers to her Facebook Page in only 18 months.

Her recipes featured in the brochure for the prestigious New York Vegetarian Food Festival for the past two years, together with other international health publications, including Natural Lifestyle magazine, distributed in all leading supermarkets and newsagents throughout the UK.

Sorrell is also a food photographer, artist and food stylist. She will be having her very own food pictures featured in the book.

Sorrell has a further four vegan cookbooks in the pipeline.
