I refer to Giles Oakley’s letter My Father Was No Forger (May 30). I am the main author of the publication on display at the Għar Dalam museum that is being referred to by Mr Oakley. However, I had no say in what was written in the Insight Guide Heritage Book.

My research on the dating of the Għar Dalam teeth was done at the Museum of Natural History in London where I was given access to all the original documents relevant to the tests in question. The result of this research was then published in 1997 as Dossier Malta – Evidence For The Magdalenian. A copy of this was also given to the Museum of Natural History in London and is the same one that is on display at the museum.

I would be most willing to send a copy of the publication in question to Mr Oakley in order that he might be in a better position to assess the available documentation. I would be more than willing to review my statements should other evidence force me to do so.
