The Malta Chamber of Commerce, Enterprise and Industry signed two Memoranda of Understanding with the Association of Lithuanian Chambers of Commerce, Industry and Crafts and the Estonian Chamber of Commerce and Industry during the recent state visit to Estonia and Lithuania by President George Abela.

The aim of the project is to pinpoint countries suitable for business co-operation

Council member John Huber signed the MoUs on behalf of the Malta Chamber, with Toomas Luman, chairman of the board at the Estonian Chamber and Rimantas Šidlauskas, director general of the Lithuanian Chambers. Following on this visit the Malta Chamber said it will continue to forge links with the Lithuanian and Estonian Chambers, through its award winning project, “Enhancing Regional Chamber Networks in the Euro-Med Region”, a project supported by the Malta Business Bureau and FimBank plc.

The aim of the project is to pinpoint countries and regions suitable for business co-operation with Malta Chamber members.

A number of agreements have already been signed with regional Chambers in Spain, Belgium, Slovakia, Tunisia, Austria and Egypt.

Through its Regional Chamber project, the Malta Chamber has established a mechanism by which to maintain active working relationships between institutions, especially with regards to foreign trade and business internationalisation, as well as the exchange of information and experiences.
