Crossword heaven

We love coming to Malta and Gozo. We love reading The Times and most of all we love the cryptic crosswords.

We think they are the best in the English-speaking world. We are lucky enough to have a friend who keeps them for us in advance of our regular visits.

The crosswords always travel with us and keep us entertained. In the last year, we have solved them on a narrow boat in Cheshire, while on a five-day trek to Machu Picchu in Peru, crossing the high altiplano by train from Cusco to Lake Titicaca, staying in Wellington, New Zealand while the house shook from an earth tremor, on the bullet train travelling from Tokyo to Kyoto and while overlooking the beach in Bournemouth with a gale blowing outside.

However, our favourite place for solving the cryptic crosswords is in the garden of our house in Gozo.
