Cachia Caruana sues MP for libel
Malta’s representative to the European Union, Richard Cachia Caruana, yesterday initiated libel proceedings against Labour MP Evarist Bartolo over comments he made on radio.
Mr Cachia Caruana said Mr Bartolo claimed on the Labour Party’s radio station that he used the Security Service against people he did not like.
The statement made by the MP was defamatory and libel-lous, Mr Cachia Caruana said, and was aimed at undermining his reputation.
The case was also filed against Kurt Farrugia as editor of the station. Lawyer Joe Zammit Maempel signed the writ.

Hopefully this libel case (and all libel cases for that matter) will be decided upon well before the next elections, otherwise people will have forgotten about it, as has happened in the past with other libel cases decided upon after several years.

If RCC is proven right then even the station should be fined or at a minimum requested to say the truth for several times throughout the day in order to try and undo the brain washing damage that such political stations are doing to our country!!
