I refer to Valerie Borg’s letter The Vote (May 21) in which she asserted that, come election time, the Nationalist Administration would distribute “houses, garages, refrigerators and all things pretty under the sun in exchange for the vote” adding, for good measure , “trust them to buy people with their vote!”
May I remind Ms Borg, whose memory seems to be rather short, that, during the week leading to the May 9, 1987 general election, then Labour Prime Minister Karmenu Mifsud Bonnici employed 8,000 people with the government.
