Students from the University’s Junior College recently visited the French Alps as part of a student exchange project entitled ‘Green school’ with students from the town of Baracelonnette.

The visit involved educational activities focused on environmental awareness and carried alongside the French students, including natural risk studies, ecology studies, fieldwork and a dog mountain rescue demonstration.

The students visited the Mercantour nature reserve park, an international research centre studying environmental natural risks in the region, and the International Thermonuclear Experimental Reactor.

When the French students were in Malta they were hosted to an educational visit at Xrobb L-Għaġin nature park, the science expo, a nature trail walk at Ħagar Qim and a treasure hunt at Mdina.

The college’s Eurocentre organises these projects and exchanges to promote intercultural education and to help students develop non-formal skills and competencies useful for their future studies and careers.
