Express Group of Luqa has inaugurated its temperature-controlled warehousing facilities, purposely designed and built for pharmaceutical storage.
The first 450-square metre facility is able to accommodate around 600 pallets within a temperature-controlled environment.
A second warehouse occupies 425 square metres and is equipped with an automated mobile aisle system that maximises capacity, and can be occupied by 975 pallets. Both warehousing facilities have been licensed by medical authorities.
General manager Johan Vella explained how the new facil-ities complement the group’s international pharmaceutical transport services which meet EU pharma ‘good distribution practices’ standards.
The warehouses complete the group’s logistics and services offering to the level required by manufactures and importers of pharmaceutical products.
Marketing manager David Fleri Soler described how Express Group, with the warehousing services and the temperature-controlled fleet of road trailers, is able to guarantee professional, high standard storage and final delivery to and from any point in Europe.
“We have a Europe-wide network with our strategic partner DHL Coldchain,” Mr Fleri Soler added.
“Our temperature-equipped trailers, controlled in Malta by our operational staff, have GPS tracking and a live temperature reading facility available to the client while the medicines are in transit to their final destination.
“Our warehouse staff includes a pharmacist tasked to release and monitor goods.”
