The number of aircraft registered in Malta rose by 21 per cent to 103 in 2011 and the first months of 2012, said Transport Minister Austin Gatt.

The government’s policy to promote Malta as a leading jurisdiction for aircraft registration and an attractive location to base air-operating companies had further success, he said during a visit to Flytech Services yesterday.

Transport Malta was processing more than 30 relocation requests from international business aviation operators. The industry employs 2,500 staff.
