Sliema buses

With reference to Henry S. Pace’s letter Improving The Bus Service (May 21), on behalf of the Sliema local council, I would like to inform Mr Pace and all Sliema residents that after several meetings with representatives of Transport Malta the former 63 (C) bus route will be reintroduced by this Sunday.

This new route will be run by the 21 bus route. There will be a slight change to the former route, which will be beneficial to more Sliema residents who have been asking for this bus route to be reinstated for a long time now. In fact, during our home visits prior to the last Sliema council elections, many residents complained about the removal of this route and contacts for its reinstatement were started even before the election.

Thank you, Transport Malta for accepting and promising to impliment our request on behalf of our residents even before the elections.

Route bus 21 will be following this route: Rue D’Argens Street, Rudolph Street, Sir Adrian Dingli Street, Tower Road, Qui-Si-Sana, Tignè tunnels, Tignè Seafront, Ferries, Manuel Dimech Street, Rudolph Street, D’Argens Street and off to Valletta passing through Gżira, Ta’ Xbiex, Msida, Pietà and Floriana on the way.

The Sliema circular bus will also be reintroduced on the insistence of our council. Whoever is interested in more details about these routes can contact the council and we will be happy to answer any questions. The new routes are to be displayed on our notice boards as well as in our newsletter, which should be delivered to homes shortly.

We hope that Sliema residents as well as those who visit our town will be pleased with this new service.
