Malta signed the EU Convention on Preventing and Combating Violence against Women and Domestic Violence and is now working on incorporating it into local law, the JusticeMinistry said.

“Malta’s signature of this convention signifies a milestone in government’s zero tolerance approach to violence against women and domestic violence and its commitment to eradicate domestic violence,” the ministry said.

Known as the Istanbul Convention, the document creates a comprehensive legal framework and approach to fight violence against women.
