Four bouncers went on trial today, charged with the attempted homicide of a Somali man.

They are accused of the attempted murder of Felix Oduh and seriously injuring him with a bottle.

The four are Roderick Attard, 22, of Kalkara; Anthony Azzopardi, 27, of Hamrun; David Bonello, 48, of Gharghur and Charlton Abela, 25, of Cospicua.

The incident happened outside Fuego in Paceville in 2007.

The court was told that the alleged incident had all been captured on CCTV.

Mr Oduh and two other men had allegedly tried to walk into Fuego but were stopped by the bouncers. The bouncers told them that there was a party for students but when one of them, Olori Lucky, showed them his student card they were still not allowed in. When Mr Lucky asked to speak to the manager, the bouncers moved him away from the establishment.

A scuffle followed and Mr Oduh was seriously injured in the neck with a glass bottle.

Olori Lucky has already been convicted and jailed for a month after he admitted to slightly injuring bouncer Roderick Attard in the same incident.
