Updated: Missing man found in Comino

An 81-year-old Englishman who was reported missing yesterday was found in Comino this morning. His mobile was found in Qala, Gozo. The man was found at around 10.30 a.m. by a British couple who live in Mellieha who happened to be at the Comino Hotel.

An 81-year-old Englishman who was reported missing yesterday was found in Comino this morning.

His mobile was found in Qala, Gozo.

The man was found at around 10.30 a.m. by a British couple who live in Mellieha who happened to be at the Comino Hotel. He was found lying down on the garigue, partly hidden by the wild thyme which grows freely all over the island.

It is understood that he arrived in Comino yesterday.

An extensive search for the man was carried out by the police and the Civil Protection Department in Gozo and in the north of Malta.

The man, who was weak, was transferred to hospital in an AFM helicopter.
