Obituary

BONDI'. On May 15, JOE, aged 86, passed away peacefully comforted by the rites of Holy Church. His great loss is mourned by his wife Maria, his son Lou and Rachel, Jacqueline, Joanna and Johnny, his grandchildren Simon, Warren and Kelly, Vanessa, Sandra, Luke and Hannah, his great-grandchildren Justin and Alessandra, his sister Yolanda, his in-laws Victor and Anna Cauchi, Tommy and Ena Cauchi, Emily, widow of Reggie Spiteri, nephews, nieces and friends.The funeral leaves Gozo General Hospital today at 4.30 p.m. followed by a cortège from Sabina Square to St Mary’s Cathedral where Mass præsente cadavere will be said at 5 p.m. The Mass will be followed by private interment in the family grave at St Mary’s Cemetery. The family wishes to thank the staff at Gozo General Hospital.

CUTAJAR. On May 16, at Mater Dei Hospital, IRENE, née Cassar, aged 70, of High Ridge, Madliena, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family and comforted by the rites of Holy Church. She leaves to mourn her loss her husband Prof. Lino Cutajar, her daughter Louise, her son David and his wife Maria,  her beloved grandsons Robin and Adam, her sisters Carmelina Cassar, Margaret Azzopardi, Georgette Galea, Doris Camilleri, Bernardette and her husband Robert Lemare, her sister-in-law Jane Cassar, her brother-in-law Edgar Cutajar and his wife Vicky, nephews and nieces, other relatives and her many  friends. The funeral leaves Mater Dei Hospital on Monday at  8.15 a.m. for St Julians  parish church,  where Mass præsente cadavere will be said at 9.15 a.m. followed by interment at Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery. No flowers by request but donations to Id-Dar tal-Providenza, Siġġiewi, will be appreciated. Lord, grant her eternal rest.

MIFSUD. Dr MARGARET. Passed away tragically, on April 19, aged 31. She leaves to mourn her loss her loving daughters Hailie and Aliyyah, her devoted parents William and Theresa, her dear brother Jason and fiancée Stephanie, her niece Lea and nephew Lionel. She will be sadly missed by numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, other relatives, friends, and colleagues. The funeral leaves Mater Dei Hospital tomorrow at 2 p.m. for Msida parish church, where Mass præsente cadavere will be said at 2.30 p.m., followed by interment at St Paul’s Bay cemetery. Flowers are a beautiful gesture, but one can also make a donation to Dar Qalb Ta’ Ġesú, St Venera. The Mifsud family would like to thank all of their family, friends, and work colleagues for their support and words of kindness during this difficult time. Lord, grant her eternal rest.

AQUILINA. In ever treasured and unfading memory of YOLANDA, a most beloved mother and grandmother, on the fifth anniversary of her death. Sadly missed by her daughter Alice and her husband Pierre Farrugia, granddaughters Emma and Paula, relatives and friends. A Mass for the repose of her soul will be said today at 6 p.m. at St Augustine church, Rabat.

CASSAR TORREGGIANI. In everloving memory of MARJORIE on the 15th anniversary of her death. Pharmacist’s commemoration

A commemorative evening for the late pharmacist Owen Farrugia will be held at the Central Auditorium, Medical School Mater Dei Hospital, tomorrow at 7.30 p.m. organised by the Department of Pharmacy, Faculty of Medicine and Surgery, in collaboration with the Malta Pharmaceutical Association and Associated Drug Company Limited.
