The Office of the Prime Minister today published the full text of the statement given by Prime Minister Lawrence Gonzi yesterday before the parliamentary Foreign Affairs Committee.

It also published all other documents mentioned by Dr Gonzi, including a US document leaked by Wikileaks and notes of  November 2004 meetings taken by (then) Major Martin Xuereb.

The Foreign Affairs Committee was discussing an Opposition motion to censure Ambassador Richard Cachia Caruana for having , it was alleged, held talks on renewing Malta's membership of Partnership for Peace behind Parliament's back, claims which the government rejects.
