Club claims coach set to join Valletta

Coach Mark Miller will not be renewing his contract with Hibernians FC and will be joining Valletta in the coming season, Hibernians said this afternoon.

However, Valletta President Victor Sciriha denied that Mr Miller had signed a contract with Valletta.

Hiberniana said in a statement Mr Miller informed the club of his decision this morning, having been approached by Valletta some weeks ago.

The club said that faced with this situation, it had been agreed with Mr Miller that his contract should be terminated immediately.

The club passed on the responsibilities of coach to Richard Mercieca, who shall be assisted by Ndubisi Chukunyere.

Hibernians thanked Mr Miller for his work with the club.

Champions Valletta lost to Hibs 2-1 last Saturday, in the final game of the season.

Hibs face Hamrun in the FA Trophy semi-final on Monday.
