Changes in the public transport schedule are insensitive to Gozitan students’ needs, according to their university representatives.

A set of new bus routes will come in force on May 27 but the Gozo University Group’s proposal to reintroduce the direct route from Ċirkewwa to University or Mater Dei Hospital has been ignored.

A survey showed that 77 per cent of Gozitan students use public transport while 72 per cent believe the reform has not improved this route, the group said.

Also, Gozitans had to purchase two day-tickets when travelling to Malta because tickets bought in Gozo were not valid in Malta and vice-versa, it complained.
