Funky Fruitilicious is an interactive learning app for pre-schoolers and toddlers developed in Malta that stimulates imagination and learning. Kids assimilate their first numbers by interacting with 10 adorable fruit characters.

The app has proven to be a hit internationally

“The app is the first educational iPad product of its kind to be made in Malta,” software developer Noel Baldacchino said.

The app was originally intended to aid volunteer educators who travel to third world countries, and was subsequently released to the general public for free. It was developed over a period of months, by a team of seven artists led by Mr Baldacchino. A child psychologist and two kindergarten educators were also consulted during the initial design process.

Funky Fruitilicious is indeed a fun and intuitive developmental app aimed to guide kids in the learning process of gaining their first knowledge in the basics of numbers and the concept of counting. The app not only provides a fun learning environment but engages children by using visual comprehension techniques and combines core early learning number skills with interactive fun, colourful fruit characters, two different game activities that reinforce number recognition, and funny audio sounds to enhance quicker reception for early kindergarten goers.

The iPad app has already proven to be a hit internationally and was rated among the top 100 most downloaded apps. The iTunes App Store has over 650,000 apps.

Funky Fruitilicious is available for download for free from the Apple App store in the education category.
