Obituary
CASSAR. On May 8, EMANUEL, aged 57, passed away peacefully at his home in Attard, comforted by the rites of Holy Church. He leaves to mourn his loss his wife Helen, his daughter Christine, his mother-in-law Blanche Mifsud, his sister Sapienza and her husband Emanuel, his brothers Joseph and his wife Sheila, Rosario and his wife Marthese, Lawrence and his wife Carrie, his brother-in-law Stephen Mifsud and his wife Agnes, nephews and nieces, other relatives and friends, including colleagues from Schlumberger and Baker Hughes, Libya. The funeral leaves Mater Dei Hospital today at 2.30 p.m. for Attard parish church, where Mass præsente cadavere will be said at 3 p.m., followed by interment at Sant’Andrija Cemetery, Żebbuġ. No flowers by request but donations to Id-Dar tal-Providenza, Siġġiewi, and Hospice Malta, Balzan, will be greatly appreciated. Lord, grant him eternal rest.

Flower fest at The Point
A flower fest will be held in Pjazza Tigné at The Point on Saturday between 9.30 a.m. and 7 p.m. The square will be decked out with a colourful bed of spring flowers and blooms and is the perfect opportunity to buy floral gifts for Mother’s Day on Sunday. All proceeds from the sale of the flowers will be donated to Hospice Malta.
Wreath laying ceremony
The Royal Naval Association (Malta Branch) will hold its annual memorial and wreath-laying ceremony on Sunday at the Pietà Marina Gardens, near the Royal Naval Memorial at 11 a.m. The ceremony will pay homage to those who died during the two world wars. All ex-Royal Navy personnel are urged to attend. Memorial service medals may be worn.
