Three people were yesterday caught red-handed by an off-duty policeman stealing electrical items from a building site.

The police said the officer was walking in Triq San Martin, Zurrieq, at around 11.30 p.m. when he saw the three people at a constrcution site. 

He called for assistance and stopped the thieves - two men, aged 17 and 20 and a 15-year-old girl, all from Zurrieq.
