I am a sixth form student attending St Aloysius’ College and am currently sitting for my A-level Matsec examinations.

Unfortunately, this year, unlike previous years, students sitting for both A-level and O-level exams are not being allowed to bring any drinks whatsoever with them into the examination room, including water.

I understand that there may have been cases of abuse in the past. However no mistake is solved with any other mistake, and with some examinations lasting up to three hours and the temperatures continuously increasing as summer draws closer, as a student I find this unacceptable.

I think that students should be allowed to bring a simple, transparent bottle of water, with no labels/stickers attached, into the examination room.

Student organisation Pulse have also critisised Matsec for this new, pointless, regulation.
