Debut single from Chordust

Hyperbolic Attitude is the debut single from Maltese rock band Chordust.

A relatively new arrival on the local scene, the band originally formed back in 2009 with a different line-up, with the current formation featuring original members Floren Sultana on vocals and Reuben Calleja on guitars as well as bassist Andre Caruana and drummer Melchior Busuttil.

Released a few weeks ago, Hyperbolic Attitude was recorded late last year with producer Kenny D’Ugo.

The band has worked hard to find its own sound, experimenting with different ideas while keeping its inclination towards alternative music intact. The end result, of which Hyperbolic Attitude is just one example, is also influenced by each member’s individual musical preferences; a fusion of ideas that has played a vital role in shaping what the band sounds like today.

Firmly believing in the art of song-writing, the band is presently focused on finishing various works-in-progress and increasing their original repertoire.

Featuring Chordust’s single in his weekly Mużika Mod Ieħor internet podcast, Toni Sant wrote:

“I am expecting this band to make quite an impact on the local pop rock scene in the coming years and months”, adding that the producers’ polished sound on this recording “makes for an excellent first impression for those who haven’t heard them before”.
