AGIUS. On May 1, ARTHUR (ex-Air Malta purser), of Rabat, aged 59, passed away peacefully, comforted by the rites of Holy Church. He leaves to mourn his great loss his beloved wife Margaret, née Falzon, his daughters Kim and her boyfriend Terry, and Lynn, his sister Carmen and her husband Vincent Vassallo, his brothers Twanny and his wife Carmen, Joe and his wife Josephine and Raymond and his wife Pauline, his wife’s brothers and sisters, nephews and nieces, other cousins, relatives and friends. The funeral cortège leaves Mater Dei Hospital today at 3.30 p.m. for St Dominic’s church, Rabat, where Mass præsente cadavere will be celebrated at 4 p.m., followed by interment at Santa Margherita Cemetery, Rabat. No flowers by request but donations to Hospice Malta, Balzan, will be greatly appreciated. The family regret they are unable to receive visitors. The family would like to thank all the staff at Mater Dei Hospital Medical Ward 3 and ENT Ward for their dedication and care. Lord, grant him eternal rest.

ATTARD. On May 1, at St James Capua Hospital, Sliema, MICHAEL of Naxxar, residing in Swieqi, aged 78, passed away peacefully, comforted by the rites of Holy Church. He leaves to mourn his loss his wife Mary, née Muscat, his children Jennifer and her husband Joseph, Carmelino and his wife Rosanne, Sergio, Odette and her husband Allen, and Simone, his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, in-laws, nephews and nieces, other relatives and friends. The funeral leaves St James Capua Hospital today at 2 p.m. for Tal-Ibraġ parish church, where Mass præsente cadavere will be said at 2.30 p.m., followed by interment in the family grave at Naxxar cemetery. No flowers by request but donations to Puttinu Cares, Mater Dei Hospital, will be greatly appreciated. Lord, grant him eternal rest.

BUGEJA. On May 1, ĠEORĠINA, née Sciriha, of Ħamrun, residing at Balzan, widow of Aronne, aged 94, passed away peacefully, comforted by the rites of Holy Church. She leaves to mourn her loss her beloved children Yvonne, Anthony and his wife Madeline and Marisa, her grandchildren Andrew and Alison, relatives and friends. The funeral leaves Mater Dei Hospital today at 3.30 p.m. for Balzan parish church where Mass præsente cadavere will be said at 4 p.m., followed by interment at Balzan cemetery. Donations to Ċentru Animazzjoni Missjunarja, St Joseph Home, St Venera, will be greatly appreciated. Lord, grant her eternal peace.

PACE. On May 2, at Casa Leone, St Julians, MICHELINA, née Ellul, of St Venera, aged 91, passed away peacefully, comforted by the rites of Holy Church. She leaves to mourn her loss her beloved husband Joseph, her children Grace, Mary, Carmen, Emanuel, Vivienne, Antoinette, Martin, Josette and Andrew and their respective spouses, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, nephews and nieces, other relatives and friends. The funeral leaves Casa Leone tomorrow at 8 a.m. for St Venera parish church where Mass præsente cadavere will be said at 8.30 a.m., followed by interment at Tarxien cemetery. No flowers by request but donations to Id-Dar tal-Providenza, Siġġiewi, will be greatly appreciated. Lord, grant her eternal rest.

Melanoma screening on Monday

People with changing moles or suspicious pigmented scars are this week urged to call the Dermatology Department at Boffa Hospital, to set up an appointment for melanoma screening on Monday.

Appointments can be set up by calling 2298 7105 or 2298 7153 and are on a first-come first-served basis.

Girgenti prayer meeting

The committee Moviment Madonna tal-Konsagrazzjoni will hold its annual prayer meeting to commemorate the 26th anniversary of the placing of the statue of Our Lady at Girgenti, and to pray for world peace and unity among families. The meeting will be held on Sunday starting with a pilgrimage at 6 p.m. from near the Girgenti bridge at the end of the old road.

There will be power cuts in the following localities tomorrow:

Between 8 and noon in Wasliet, Ispiera and Imgħażel streets in Swieqi.

Between 8.30 a.m. and noon in Ħamrija, Mġarr, Jean De La Valette, Majmuna, Mitħna, St Elizabeth, Silver Jubilee Ground and Indfependence streets in Xewkija.

Between 8.30 a.m. and 3.30 p.m. in Fanal and Ġonna streets in Għasri.
