April was warmer than average at around 19.8 degrees Celsius.

With a minimum temperature of 12.6 degrees, the nights were also warmer than the average of 11.9 degrees, the Malta Airport MetOffice said yesterday.

In the last week of April the temperature increased steadily and then fell in the last two days.

A total of 21.8 millimetres of rainfall were recorded – 0.7 millimetres less than the 22.5 mm 30-year norm for the month. The average humidity was 77 per cent.
