Obituary
AVALLONE. On April 27, MARY ANNE, (ex-Air Malta purser), of Sliema, aged 54, passed away peacefully, comforted by the rites of Holy Church after a short illness. She leaves to mourn her great loss her partner Ferdinand (k/a Fernie) Fiorini, her mother Emanuela, her sister Jennifer and her husband Manuel Rizzo, her beloved nieces Thea and Kylie and her boyfriend Gary, Ferdinand’s brothers, their families, all aunts, uncles and cousins in Malta, England, Canada and Australia, other relatives and friends. The funeral leaves St James Hospital, Sliema, today at 1.30 p.m. for Sacro Cuor parish church, Sliema, where Mass præsente cadavere will be celebrated at 2 p.m., followed by interment at Qalb ta’ Ġesù cemetery, Żebbuġ. Donations to Id-Dar tal-Providenza, Siġġiewi, will be greatly appreciated. The family regret they are unable to receive visitors.
BONELLO. On April 29, at Mater Dei Hospital, ANTHONY, aged 55, member of the Christian Doctrine Society (MUSEUM), went to meet the Risen Lord, comforted by the rites of Holy Church. He leaves to mourn his loss his sisters Therese and Gordon, Frances and Victor, Nathalie and Michael, Sr Maria Bernardette, Maria and Ian, his brothers Joe and Maria and Nicholas and Madeline, nephews and nieces and members of MUSEUM. Funeral Mass praesente cadavere will be said at Siggiewi parish church tomorrow at 3 p.m. followed by interment at Siggiewi cemetery. Lord, grant him eternal rest.
DERAFFAELE. On April 29, at St Vincent de Paul Residence, JESSIE nèe Graham of Vittoriosa, 84, passed away peacefully comforted by the rites of Holy Church. She leaves to mourn her loss her children Astrid and her husband Lawrence Ciantar, George and his wife Mary Grace, Gladys and her husband Joe Ellul and Edward and his wife Miriam, grandchildren and their respective spouses, great grandchildren, nephews and nieces, other relatives and friends. The funeral leaves St Vincent de Paul Residence today at 8 a.m. for St Lawrence parish church Vittoriosa, where Mass præsente cadavere will be said at 8.30 a.m. followed by interment at Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery. Lord, grant her eternal rest.
GRECH. On April 29, at Loyola House, Naxxar, Fr FRANK X, SJ, 84, went to meet the Risen Lord comforted by the rites of Holy Mother Church. He leaves to mourn his loss his brethren of the Society of Jesus in Malta, relatives, many friends and former students of St Aloysius’ College, Birkirkara. Mass præsente cadavere will be said today at 9 a.m. at Loyola House, 38, Marquis Scicluna Street, Naxxar, followed by interment at the parish cemetery in Naxxar. No flowers by request but donations to the Jesuit Province Infirmary at Loyola House, Naxxar, will be greatly appreciated. May he rest in the peace of the Risen Lord.
MIFSUD. On April 29, at the Dar tal-Kleru, Birkirkara, Fr TONIO, Conventual Franciscan, 56, went to meet the Risen Lord comforted by the rites of Holy Church. He leaves to mourn his loss his father’s wife Tess, his brother Vince and wife Mary, Silvio and wife Jane, Annie, widow of his brother Charlie, nephews, Friars of the Conventual Franciscan Order, relatives and friends. The funeral leaves Id-Dar tal-Kleru tomorrow at 7.45 a.m. for the Friary next to St Francis Church, Msida Road, Birkirkara, where he will lie in state at 8 a.m. Mass præsente cadavere will be said at 9 a.m., followed by interment at the Franciscan community’s grave at Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery. No flowers by request but donations to the Cleric Home in Birkirkara will be greatly appreciated. May he rest in the peace of the Risen Lord.
SANT MANDUCA. On April 29, at Casa Sant Manduca, JOHN dei CONTI, passed away peacefully, aged 73, comforted by the rites of Holy Church. He leaves to mourn his loss his beloved wife Louisette, his cherished sons Peter and his wife Sandra, Nicholas and his wife Karen and his treasured grandchildren Alexia, Christina and Jamie, his in-laws Dr John Bonnici Mallia, Anna and Maurice Meli Bugeja, Margaret Bonnici Mallia, Victoria and Louis Camilleri, Charmaine and Professor David Attard, his cousin Dr John Bugeja Caruana, his aunt Bertha Cassar Torregiani and his many cousins, nephews and nieces, relativesand friends. The funeral cortege will leave Casa Sant Manduca at 1.30 p.m. today for the Metropolitan Cathedral in Mdina where Mass præsente cadavere will be celebrated at 2 p.m., followed by interment at Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery. May the Good Lord grant him eternal rest.

Today being the eleventh anniversary of the death of JOHN LASPINA, today’s 6 p.m. Mass at the Ursuline Crèche, Sliema, will be offered for the repose of his soul. Lord, grant him eternal rest.

Blood donation
The mobile blood donation unit will be available for blood donation next to St Joseph the Worker parish church in Birkirkara tomorrow, from 8.30 a.m. till 1 p.m.
In the afternoon, the unit will be available at St George’s Square in Valletta from 2.30 to 6 p.m.
More Gozo ferry trips
Gozo Channel will increase the number of trips on May 2 to every half an hour between 6 to 7.30 a.m. from Mġarr and 6.30 to 7.30 a.m. from Ċirkewwa.
