The Association of Model Engineers is holding its annual model exhibition at the Scouts Headquarters in Floriana until next Sunday.
The association has various sections which vary from aircraft to trains, from figures to armoured fighting vehicles, from crafts to cars and from marine to general engineering.
This year marks a number of important anniversaries, some of which will be depicted at this year’s show: They include the 70th anniversary of the George Cross Award to the Maltese, the 100th anniversary of the sinking of the Titanic, and Queen Elizabeth’s Diamond Jubilee, among others.
The train section will exhibit two layouts showing the progress of the main club’s layout Orbiston Parva and the Malta Railway. A number of demonstration sessions about model making will also take place.
Visitors will have the opportunity to observe the details of both the static models and the working models.
A children’s crafts workshop is also being held. More information about AME can be found on www.a-m-e.org and on Facebook – Association of Model Engineers. You can also e-mail inform@a-m-e.org.
The exhibition is open from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Next Sunday it is open until 4 p.m.
Entrance is free.
