American sprint legend Michael Johnson is set to visit Malta this weekend to take part in the Advantage Conference commencing at Hilton Malta today.

The four-times Olympic gold medallist is scheduled to address the conference tomorrow. He will talk about his stellar athletic career and his approach to achieving success.

Johnson, winner of eight world titles, is regarded as one of the greatest track and field athletes to represent the United States in the Olympic Games.

The 44-year-old made his first Olympic appearance at the 1992 Barcelona Games when he helped the American team to win the gold medal in the 4x400m relay.

Four years later, he completed a memorable double in Atlanta, winning the 200m final in a new world record time of 19.32 seconds before going on to finish first in the 400m.

In Sydney 2000, Johnson again struck gold in the 400 metres.

Since his retirement from competitive track in 2000, Johnson has become a successful television commentator for BBC Sport and the Olympics as well as being a regular contributor to the sports section of The Times of London.
