Golden Wedding

Mr TONY FLERI SOLER and Miss ANNE HUBER

The marriage took place on April 25,1962 at the oratory of the Jesuit Church, Valletta, officiated by Fr Charles Vella.

Thank you both for your constant love, care, kind support and good example throughout all these years. Daniel, Caroline Catherine, Robert and their dear families.

Obituary

AZZOPARDI. On April 23, at Dar tal-Kleru, Birkirkara, Fr ARTHUR, OFM, aged 89, passed away peacefully, comforted by the rites of Holy Church. He leaves to mourn his loss his brother friars of the Maltese Franciscan Province of St Paul the Apostle, his brother Edgar and his wife Maggie, his sisters Rose Loporto and Sr Rose Azzopardi of the Sisters of St Joseph of the Apparition, his nephews and nieces, other relatives and friends. The funeral leaves Dar tal-Kleru, today at 1.15 p.m. to the Franciscan Friary in Carmel Street, Sliema, where at 1.45 p.m. the funeral cortege will proceed to Sacro Cuor parish church, Sliema for funeral Mass præsente cadavere at 2 p.m. followed by interment at the Franciscan chapel at Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery. No flowers by request but donations to Dar tal-Kleru, Birkirkara, will be greatly appreciated. Lord, grant him eternal rest.

Postnatal depression

An evening seminar tackling postnatal depression, entitled The Dark Side of Motherhood, will be held at Le Meridien Hotel, St Julians on May 11 .

The seminar will focus on self-help and empowerment and include talks about family therapy, aromatherapy and emotional freedom technique.

Children Commissioner Helen D’Amato will be the opening speaker while Maria Delicata will be chairing the event.

Spring fete

The annual spring fete at the Msida Bastion historic garden, organised by Din l-Art Ħelwa, will be held on Sunday between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m. The newly-erected monument to Pte Mc Corrie VC, unveiled recently by The Duke of Gloucester, can be visited. Funds collected from sale of bric-a-brac, books and cakes will go towards the maintenance of this historic garden, which is adorned with neo-classic monuments from the early 19th century. The garden can be reached by following indications down along the entrance to Hotel Excelsior.

LGBT celebration

Holy Mass and a get-together, organised by the Drachma Parents’ Group and Drachma LGBT, will be held tomorrow at the Millennium chapel, St Julians at 7 p.m. Light refreshments will follow. Contact: Joseanne on 7944 2317 or via drachmalgbt@gmail.com.
