The National Bank of Malta shareholder’s court case has once again been put off, this time to September 27. This case is awaiting judgement and has been postponed time and time again.
Nothing strange, one may think till one is told that the three (linked) cases were instituted as follows; one in 1977 and the other two in 1992. This makes the first case 35 years old. Yes, that’s 35 years of justice denied.
How is the Maltese legal profession expected to be respected and looked up to when such blatant abuse of power is thus so manifest in the Maltese legal system? How is our Parliament, composed mainly of lawyers, so complacent to such a sorry state of affairs? Is it possible that none of our MEPs have been approached on the subject in Brussels or are they all conveniently trying to evade/deflect the sad truth?
Before justice is done and seen to be done, this once God-fearing island will sink deeper and deeper in the sickly slime of decadence. Thankfully, we Maltese are now directly witnessing too many instances of corruption, bribery and injustice and John Citizen is finally waking up and shouting “enough is enough”.
