RMF (Reliable Motor Facilities) is this year celebrating 25 years of operations.

From assisting 1,000 motorists in its first year of operation in 1987, RMF now comes to the aid of around 35,000 motorists annually, assisting about 200 on a busy day.

Late one night in 1986, RMF founder Patrick Rausi’s car broke down with a double puncture. “I tried to get in touch with a car breakdown service, but after several attempts to seek help, it was clear there was nothing available,” he said.

“I was informed that my car would sustain extensive damage if I were to have it towed, as the trucks of the only service available did not have the required equipment. The towing service would have cost me a hefty sum at that time, so I decided to leave my car overnight on the spot. My car was broken into the following morning”.

This experience inspired Rausi to set up RMF in March 1987.

RMF said it is committed to each of its members through its dedicated staff.

RMF has gone beyond roadside service; they now offer personal membership, European roadside assistance, insurance and an incentive scheme for members administered through the company’s website.

RMF said its 18 tow trucks are equipped to recover a vehicle from a roadside breakdown under any condition. RMF also have modified trucks to be able to manoeuvre in narrow roads.
